In this course, participants will review various approaches to advance nursing assistant procedures. The human body and its function will be addressed as it relates to the course content. It will include a review of the scope of practice for C.N.A. II, and emphasis is placed on sterile techniques, respiratory procedures, catheterizations, wound and tracheotomy care, irrigations, and ostomy care. It also addresses the need to care for oneself and encourages the development of professionalism.

This is a certificate-level course.

High School Transcript, GED, or College Transcript

Clinical Requirements:

American Academy holds clinicals at two separate hospitals. In order to qualify for your rotation the following requirements must be met:

  • Immunization Record (including proof of Varicella)
  • Recent TB Results
  • Flu Vaccination
  • Hepatitis B Declination Form
  • Physical Examination
  • 12-Panel Drug Screen
  • Background Check
  • Hospital Orientation Form
Failure to provide these documents 1 (one) week prior to clinical rotation will fail to complete the program.
